In September 1981, the statue was built in front of the station in the motif of the story.One day when Ishida Mitsunari (who was born in Ishida town, Nagahama city) was undergoing training at the Kannonji temple, Toyotomi Hideyoshi(who was a owner of Nagahama castle at the time) stopped by there on the way to go hawking. Firstly, Mitsunari served a full big cup of lukewarm tea and secondly he warmed tea up a little more and served a half cup of it.Finally he served a small cup of hot tea.
