At 1,317m , Mt Kanakusodake is the second highest peak in Shiga prefecture. It is located between northeast side of Nagahama City and Gifu Prefecture. The rhododendron which is the prefectural flower can be seen here as well as other rare alpine plants that grow naturally around the peak. The breathtaking panoramic view never fails to impress visitors. At the trailhead is the Takayama Camping Site which can be used as a base for outdoor facilities.
