This venerable temple was founded by Kukai in the Heian Era, and as well as the affiliated temple of Hachimangu Shrine. This temple contains the hanging Buddha that Hideyoshi Toyotomi prayed for his family's safety, and also Aizen Myo-o, a deity which transforms worldly lust into spiritual awakening. This deity is an Important Cultural Property because it's in excellent condition. The bloom of roses, Fuyo, is really attractive to the tourists from August to September.
