Founded in 1597 by Saint Kyonyo, this temple was made by Nishijima of the Tajima Family, a master craftsman from northern Lake Biwa. The impressive hondo (main hall) is an Important Cultural Property and one remarkable masterpiece. As the home of Northern Biwa organization of Otani Sect of Shinshu, it is integrated into local communities and preserved carefully.
