Amano River Firefly Festival
The Nagaoka Genji firefly those birthplace is Amano River has been designated as a Special National Treasure. Annually the fireflies rise out of the Amano River and its tributaries. Each year during the festival weekend, you can take a shuttle bus to the river to watch the fireflies. A parade is held by the local children with an of aim nature conservation.
